We would like to congratulate the Dean of the Television Cinema and Media Arts department Adilet Karzhoev on a number of awards received for the movies directed by him.
On November 17, 2022, during the closing ceremony of the XVI International Documentary Film Festival "Bir Duino Kyrgyzstan", dedicated to the theme: "Climate and crises: the situation with the fundamental rights of citizens, alternatives for the SDGs", the films that won in different nominations were named. Adilet Karzhoev’s “Black Wagon”, produced with the support of CASI AUCA, received an award in the nomination for the best documentary film about social, economic, and cultural rights.
“Black Wagon” has also received a Diploma of the 1st degree in the nomination "Documentary up to 60 minutes" at the 14th International Film Festival “Northern Character” in Murmansk, Russia.
The film was also awarded the Jury diploma for the poetic embodiment of miners at the Salt of the Earth, Documentary Film Festival in Samara, Russia.
Additionally, "Black Wagon" received a Special Mention for the 2022 Open Category of the Juree Asia Awards competition.
Another outstanding film by Adilet Karzhoev “Burul” received the Stars Collective Emerging Filmmaker Award of $2000 at The 8th Asian World Film Festival that took place November 9 - 18, 2022 in Los Angeles. This festival showcases the best of a broad selection of Asian World cinema to Los Angeles in order to draw greater recognition to the region's wealth of filmmakers—strengthening ties between the Asian and Hollywood film industries.
