Bright Life Camp Issyk-kul

Ìý

Initial situation / problem statement

The majority of school children in villages near Karakol such as Ak-Suu (Teplokluchenka), Zyndan, Maman, Kerege-Tash, Kaiyrma-Aryk, Novovoznesenovka, and Boz-Uchuk have problems with extracurricular activity courses. There are no courses, which would help children develop their artistic skills. Most children do not know how to spend their time productively. They come straight home and do tasks at home. Except this, they are not able to discover their artistic skills and broaden them. Those children who are passionate to learn fine arts cannot have an opportunity to attend art courses, since such courses do not exist.

During the last implementation of this camp (1-7 July, in Ak-Suu) many children were passionate about learning origami and playing active games and activities as well. Fine arts especially origami, painting, and handicraft develop patience and focus, which are crucial in children’s development.
