GRANT OPPORTUNITIES

AUCA offers a number of research and travel grants that can facilitate research. The AUCA Student Intellectual Life Committee (SILK) is a particularly popular option for students conducting B.A. thesis research. SILK supports student-initiated projects, professional development opportunities, and student research. It awards small grants every month to AUCA students.

Further information on SILK grants can be found here /en/silc/ .

BA THESIS AWARD

AUCA presents the Best Senior Thesis Award annually. The purpose of the award is to recognize the students who writes the most outstanding senior thesis in a given year. Each AUCA program submits its best thesis nomination by the end of the spring semester. The Student Intellectual Life Committee chooses the best senior thesis and awards it during the graduation ceremony.

IRB

AUCA Institutional Review Board (IRB) reviews research proposals to ensure that the rights and well-being of human subjects used in the research study by AUCA-affiliated students, staff, and personnel are protected.

The goal of the reviews is to ensure that all possible risks are minimized while the potential benefits are maximized; that human subjects participate on a voluntary basis after being provided with informed consent; that AUCA-affiliated research is conducted in that manner that is ethical and non-maleficent.

Information about the IRB process at the AUCA can be found here .

Ìý

ALL undergraduate and graduate students, who are involved in research with human participants, MUST complete online training and pass the exam. ÌýThese training sessions can help you figure out whether IRB is required for your research project and clarify the application process.
